Accredited by the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapy, this diploma has been designed to respond to the growing demand for a high-quality vocational qualification in acupuncture in the field of complementary medicine. This demand has been created, in part by the inclusion of acupuncture in the NICE guidelines for the treatment of several pain disorders. Chinese Medicine is a system of healing based upon the Chinese understanding of the correspondence between nature (Tao) and human beings.

This programme introduces the theories of Chinese Medicine including the principles of Yin and Yang, macrocosm and microcosm, Qi, diagnostics and their application to practice. This philosophy is based upon holism, treating the mind and body as a whole, with the prime objective of treatment to enable the client to regain new balance and return to a state of well-being.

As well as developing an understanding of Chinese philosophy, you will also acquire knowledge of health sciences, research and therapeutic skills as well as developing your skills in communication, presentation, reflection, information gathering, problem solving and evaluation.

At the end of the diploma you will be able to pursue a challenging and fulfilling career as a professional practitioner in acupuncture and areas allied to Chinese medicine.
