AACP CPD Approved: Return to regular acupuncture practice: Regain your confident, knowledge and skills in a day! By Hubert Van Griensven

If you have been out of practice or you feel that you are losing your confidence and skills, this is a refresher course to confidently and safely return to regular practice then this is ideal for you.

This is a re-entry course for therapists with foundation level qualification who have not practised or not included very much acupuncture within their physiotherapy practice for a while, and who need a refresher course to return to regular, safe and confident practice.

The course is limited to a maximum of 16 people and is mostly practical. The course will cover:

• The locations and uses of the meridians most used in physiotherapy
• Key points on each meridian; location, indications, needling (theory & practice)
• Needling technique (mostly practical)
• Update on safety guidelines including contraindications and AACP guidance
• Current trends in acupuncture practice
• Putting together a treatment prescription for common musculoskeletal / pain problems
• Progressing treatment for responders and non-responders
• Integrating acupuncture with physiotherapy
• Update on evidence

This course is aimed at health professionals who have a foundation level qualification who have not practised or not included very much acupuncture within their physiotherapy practice for a while, and who need a refresher course to return to regular, safe and confident practice.

It is not an introductory course.
